It probably will. This pattern came from me just messing around with the pattern generator. If you made the holes bigger (more space between green and red) they might survive. I just wanted to try to make a pattern with holes.
correct me if i'm wrong but wont this come out like a regular chevron? looking at the way you tie it i have the feeling the holes won't survive. it's literally the pattern for a simple chevron. but i'd love to have a picture prove me wrong
