@adriels422 When knotting rows where some strings aren't used (e.g. rows 3-12), I just pulled the unused strings into the knots at that edge of the bracelet, similar to what you might do when you're making triangle ends at the start/end of a bracelet (the Masha Knots youtube videos about starting/ending a bracelet are how I learned this technique).
