@junipernot for shaped without strings I believe that you need at least two rows of knots, not just one. One row of knots is too little to hide both the strings on top and below.
Do you know how to make shaped starts/ends?
For this pattern you start out with a shaped start in this shape: \/\/
Afterwards you do a shaped end in the same shape: \/\/
@junipernot I'm going to be busy the first week or so of the year, but when I get back, I'll try to make a tutorial for the way I envisioned this! There are two ways to do this: Leave the strings loose for one kind of look, or do a shaped bracelet technique for a different type of look.
@junipernot if I were to tie this pattern, I would just make all the knots the pattern tells me to do and leave loose strings in between.
But you can also use different techniques to get a different effect. Do you have anything in mind how you want it to look? Then I can probably recommend a similar tutorial.
