@LoopyCat Gotta love a good thunderstorm 😉 I'm just an insomniac lol. We can definitely continue to compare notes and see what we come up with! That's what I love most about the bracelet makers I have met... everybody always has such creative ideas / solutions to problems. 😊

@allshiny Actually no, I stand corrected... those elastic loops are supposed to be for attaching eyeglass or sunglasses straps to the over-ear parts of the glasses. I found some other kinds of closure thingies in the homemade face mask "department" so I had them mixed up. Way past my bedtime, clearly! Hahaha 🙈 🤪 I only just woke up because we're having massively loud thunderstorms in Philadelphia right now, lol 😄

@allshiny No worries! 😇 Those little elastic loops with a bead in the center I actually stumbled across on Amazon... they're meant to be used for making adjustable ear ties for homemade face masks... and they're super cheap! I got a bag of 50 of them for a couple bucks. 👍 😄

@LoopyCat Ohnice! It sounds like we are thinking along the same lines. I really like how your elastic loop looks. I've been sticking interesting buttons on some of mine, not strictly for closures just for... flair. 😁 P.S. Sorry for misspelling your name before 😅 |

@allshiny Very cool! 😎 I was curious because I've been experimenting with different ways to create closures for bracelets. I know there are plenty of videos with various methods but I've been trying out some sort of unusual ways of doing it... some successful & others not so hot. LOL 😂 For example #90931 I just made with a tiny elastic loop attached to the top & a large bead at the bottom end that you can squeeze through the rubber loop but it'll be tight enough to stay put until you want to take it off. I also just got a packet of snaps with the pliers to easily attach them to fabric or, I'm hoping, to bracelet ends. That'll be my next experimental closure method I'll try on the next bracelet I make! Lol 🤪 😂 |

@LooptCat Actually I made this and #105994 as samplers because I wanted to try out a different way of starting! It's the same idea as a shaped bracelet --- instead of making a loop first, and then a triangle, I just started pulling strings out one at a time right away. The ending is a regular triangle end and then I wrapped the string around a bunch of times with one final knot to hold it together. As you noted, it doesn't really end up being useful as a bracelet as-is. You could make something like a bookmark this way, though. Now that I've tried it out a few times I got some small metal rings that I can tie in at the very start, and cord ends to pinch over the wrapped end. Then I can attach a clasp, or a split ring for a keychain, etc. Anyway I was just playing around. 😁 But I'm pretty happy with the results and nowI can try it on a bigger scale. |

@allshiny Love the bracelet you made! Thanks for sharing your photo! I'm interested in how you started & finished the ends... is it meant to be something other than a bracelet, like a keychain or other decoration? Or how does it close? 🤔 😍
