@aqua_lin Hi! It depends on how long you want your finished bracelet to be, and on whether or not you plan to make a knotted loop at the beginning, and/or braided (or twisted) ties at the end. For a bracelet of about 7 inches in length, I recommend using at least 3 feet of embroidery thread for each string in the pattern. If you'll be making a knotted loop at the top and braided ties at the bottom, you should add an extra 6 to 12 inches per string. Rather than cutting ten individual strings of 3 to 4 feet each, you can cut a length of 6 to 8 feet for each "pair" of colors used in the pattern, and then fold them in half to form a loop at the start of your bracelet. Since there are four black strings in the pattern, you'll need to cut TWO strings of 6 to 8 feet each for these, and fold both in half to make four black strings. Hope this is helpful! @j12et54ddk Yayyy!! I'm happy for you! 👍 😍 If possible, you should submit a photo of the bracelet you made (but only if you want to, of course)! Keep practicing your knotting techniques and you'll be a surprised how quickly you'll improve! I myself had to learn all this stuff from scratch a few years ago when I discovered this website and wanted to re-learn how to make bracelets, as I hadn't made any in 35 years! And the way I learned to make them back then was totally different than it is now. I'd never heard of such thing as a pattern for making bracelets with unique designs. I thought the only thing you could do was make stripes, chevrons, or diamond shapes. I had a LOT to learn! I had no idea how to read a pattern diagram or anything like that, but I learned it all by watching YouTube videos, and eventually got up the courage to try designing a pattern of my own. Now here I am, with over 1,400 pattern designs... Lol 🤷♀️ 😄 😍
@j12et54ddk I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with it. I think it's extremely helpful to watch (and re-watch multiple times) the basic video tutorials available to click on at the top of every pattern on this site. I also highly recommend searching "Masha Knots" on YouTube, as she has hundreds of great instructional videos for people of all skill levels. You definitely need to have a solid understanding of how to read & follow pattern diagrams, and how to make each of the four types of knots used in friendship bracelets. Once you've learned and practiced these techniques, things should go much more smoothly for you. Best of luck! 👍 😍
