@kittncakes masha knots also mentions patterns with spaces like this one in the video normal patterns and segment knotting at around the 16th minute of the video... Idk if visual footage might help even if it's a different pattern
@kittncakes You don't want to tie all the knots of the same colour in the same row, they're all one row below each other and next to each other.
After you've tied the very first forward tie you start with the next one on the second colour (so the first tie in the pattern is red over orange, to red over yellow) Don't pull the first part of the forward knot too tight all the way. Pul it so it's right next to the bottom of the first tie.
Finish the second part of the forward knot. As you should be able to see that it should lie a bit below the first one.
Fill in the red of the knots till you reach the centre of the rainbow.
*I prefer to work from colour to colour and finish all the forward knots of one colour before making the row in the next colour.*
For the backward knots, pull the first tie closely over the most outward forward knot (or in this case the purple one: the only forward backward knot) and then make the second tie
Do the same with the rest of the colours and then start the next rainbow. If you want to connect multiple rainbows it might be neater to use a backward forward knot for every last red knot instead of a backward knot and then starting again with a forward knot (but the pattern generator hates odd numbered rows).
Keep in mind to space the rows evenly like in the first steps, especially the first row of reds!
