@LillyGrace Thank you! So what I did is I doubled the pattern and started it at row 1 without any triangle beginnings. To create the cylindrical shape for the chapstick to fit, I did not sew the ends together but rather knotted them together as I went. If that sounds too complicated you can just sew the ends together once you have knotted to the length of the chapstick.
