@blot you can check out the videos on #89623 and #49390 to learn how to tie shaped alphas. To be able to tie this pattern as a shaped pattern, you need to adjust the knotting structure in rows 22 and 39 a bit and change the two white knots between the band and the ears to brown. |

Ah, thank you 😄 so it's not possible to knot it with the gap or at least you don't know a technique how to?

@halokiwi oh you are right, the pattern is wrong, those two white knots in between should by brown.

Do you by any chance have an example photo of this somewhere? I think what I have trouble understanding is not actually the 2 left out knots. I would just hide the base strings in the edge of the light brown band. My issue is where the base strings used in the ears (base strings 9 to 12) get hidden before and after row 22 and 39. I can't hide those in the edges of the light brown band because I would need to somehow get them across the gap of the two left out knots. Do you understand what I mean? |

You just put those two strings with the base string where you are going to do a knot with the dark brown( row 22) and light brown( row 39) leading string.

How exactly would I do row 22 and 39? What do I do with the two knots that are skipped? How do I create the gap without there being loose unused strings?

@halokiwi you just knot the ears as if they are separated, but then in row 23, you just knot with the light brow leading string onto the base string and the dark brown string. Finally, you take the dark brown string and continue knoting. Repeat this steps for the rest of the ear. Hope this helps!
