@voltamaw yes, that is correct. When knotting alphas with just two colours, you can use the base strings for the second colour and only need one leading string, but in alphas with more colours, you'll need to work with several leading strings that you switch between.

@halokiwi thank you so much! I was confused because I made a bracelet that has letters on it and the knots to make these letters were opposite to the knots in the line but maybe it was because the letters were made by the base string?? and not by another like main string idk🙁 I'm sorry...im quite new to making bracelets and made only the basic ones |

@voltamaw one row in an alpha only has one knot type. In an alpha pattern rows of f and b knots alternate. Before knotting an alpha, I recommend watching MashaKnot's video on the flat alpha technique. It should answer all questions you might have. |

if the row says to do a forward knots all the time and you have to add a new color to the row will it make a forward knot also or do w opposite knot??
