Rediscovered bracelet knotting during the Covid-19 pandemic (circa end-2020), and itโs been an amazing journey since. The discovery of members of this community on YouTube has sent me tumbling down the rabbit hole of making ever-increasingly intricate patternsโmany of which I would never have imagined I would ever be able to make. So thank you, all you pattern makers and tutorial makers out there (especially Masha Knots, whose tutorials on how to read patterns, and various loops and ends for beginners unlocked a whole new world of possibilities for me)! I am forever grateful to this community for continually challenging me to make better bracelets and do so much more with the patterns!

โข Itโs โminuteโ as in โsmallโ, not as in โ60 secondsโ ๐

โข My โค๏ธs: Patterns I either enjoyed making, or really really love the design (but might never be able to make ๐ญ)
โข My To-dos: Patterns I plan or aspire to make one day (I have recently accepted that I might never complete this list). Please feel free to raid my to-dos; that way at least one of us is making them ๐

Normals > Alphas, simply because I get easily annoyed with long trails/huge skeins of string and/or with running out of string halfway through patterns, and I only know how to make alphas with the clean back technique (which makes things just slightly more complicated). Iโm also a somewhat slow but impatient knotter. I am extremely jealous of all yโall who make alphas so beautifully and with such straight edges (especially character or detailed landscape patterns)!

Because @verenskaja asked (๏ฝกโโฟโ๏ฝก)
The best advice I ever heard/observed that contribute to producing a straight bracelet (apart from just using the straight edges technique):
(1) Work on your bracelet as closely to your clip/whatever you secure it with as possible. (credit: YT & IG: akaawol)
(2) If you see a knot appearing out of place as you knot your project, adjust it immediately; donโt wait for it to โfix itselfโ or until you get to the end of a row/section. (Credit: @racoon / YT: Masha Knots / IG: masha_knots)
(3) Pull your string more in an upwards/vertical direction when knotting rather than to a specific side. (Credit: @Margaron / IG: megmakescrafts / YT: Megan Morris)
(4) There is no hard and fast rule about whether tight or looser knots work betterโit can and does differ between knotters, and even between projects. you just need to become familiar enough with how you tend to work with the materials you have and the tension that works for you, and practice replicating the knots you want to make more often until it kind of becomes your standard.
.
Other most important bracelet-making tip: COUNT your strings of each colour TWICE before cutting AND after cutting! I cannot stress this enough! Trust me on this; you do not want to make a loop and start knotting only to find out you have too many or too few of one (or more) coloured stringโฆ ๐
