I'm 28 years old and making bracelets is my therapy.
I started making bracelets at camp in high school as an excuse to hit on the counselors ๐ I was really good at it for a few years, but I kinda forgot about it for a while when school and adult life became hectic.
A while ago, while going through a bad breakup, I decided to start making bracelets again and found it to be very therapeutic. Making knots focuses my head and calms my heart in a way no other activity can. I feel immense zen from knotting: whether I make mistakes or not, I'm always proud of the outcome because it is a reflection of me.
I still believe in the mysticism of bracelets. I believe that you should think about your friendship when you make every knot. I believe that focusing on that love gives your bracelets power. I believe that you should make a wish when you tie the bracelet on their hand and the wish will come true when the bracelet comes off. I believe that the strength of a bracelet shows the strength of a friendship, and that washed, worn, and stained bracelets are signs of well-weathered relationships.
