Hi everyone! I’m @KnotsBySav and in this tutorial, I will be showing you how to make the W-shaped ending for normal patterns. I think this is a unique way to end your normal patterns and I’m hoping you try it out! This technique is different than the double triangle ends because these don’t invert on the left and right edges of your bracelet. You should know how to make forward-backward and backward-forward knots before attempting this tutorial.
Step 1
First, you will need to choose a pattern that you can cut an upside-down v shape out of. I chose #109443 by @KrazyKnotz. If your pattern has an odd number of strings, this tutorial will still work, but your ending may be a little lopsided.
Cut out an upside-down v shape from your pattern like I did here. @KrazyKnotz has tons of amazing patterns featuring diamonds and v-shapes that you can use. Make sure that the upside-down v you cut out features all the strings in your bracelet.
Now, knot your bracelet and stop when you reach the upside-down v. Don’t make any knots past the upside-down v. All your knots should only be above the v-shape you cut.

Step 3
Set the right bundle of strings aside.
Taking the two uppermost strings from your left bundle, make a backward knot.

Step 4
Now, taking the next string in line, the third string, make a fb knot over the bundle, including the string just knotted with.
Step 5
Continue making your fb knots over your bundle and including the string you made your last knot with until you reach the end. It should look like this!
Step 6
The right side will be exactly the same, but with the opposite knots.
Now, working on the right bundle, take the two uppermost strings and make a forward knot.

Here is your finished w-shaped end!
Here, you can add twisted ties, braided ties, or cut the ends to make a keychain.
