Hi, I’m @happyrobin and today I’m going to teach you a quick and easy way to make bobbins.
You will need:
- Scissors
- Cardboard about as thick as a cereal box (it doesn’t matter if it has a picture on it)
- Some string to wrap around your creation

Step 1
Get your cardboard and scissors and cut a small rectangle out of your cardboard. You can do it according to the amount of string that you need it to hold. Bigger for more string and smaller for less string.
Step 2
Cut two slits in the bottom of your bobbin to stop your string from unravelling. I would recommend doing them reasonably deep so that there is less chance for your string to slip out.
Step 3
Now you can begin to wrap your string around your bobbin. If you are using embroidery floss, then I recommend opening it up so that it is a ring of string and slipping your hand through to prevent your string from knotting.
Step 4
Remember to leave a good amount of space where it has not been wrapped at the top and bottom of your bobbin. Now slip the end of your string through the two slits that you cut.
