Intro
Hi! Aspen here and today I’ll be showing you how to make a square-knot ending for any alpha keychain 🙂
Step 1
First, grab your materials! You will need your keychain with the knotting done, as well as a piece of scrap thread 9-12 inches long.
Step 2
Now we actually start! Simply place your scrap thread under your base strings. (The bead on the left is just a marker so make this easier and will be referred to as “side A”)
Step 3
Next lay side A over the base strings.
Step 4
Cross side A over side B, this should create a fish sort of shape.
Step 5
Put side A underneath the base strings.
Step 6
You will now put string A through the loop created by crossing string A over B.
Step 7
Now pull the knot up to where you want it to start. That’s your first square knot! The rest is slightly different so keep reading!
Step 8
Make a backward “4” shape with side B.
Step 9
Bring string A over string B.
Step 10
Bring string A under the base string.
Step 11
Bring string A through the loop and pull to the top!
Check-in
It should look something like this.
Step 12
Now make a forward “4” shape with side B and repeat the same steps as before (over, under, through, adjust). Now repeat from step 9!
Outro
Lastly you’ll clip off any excess string. I usually repeat to make 6 total knots. I hope you loved the tutorial!
