If you are confident with permuted colours, this is just 4-step pattern: ignore the other rows and simply repeat the 4 steps at the start!
This pattern is also very good for segment knotting – the pattern is extremely simple if you follow the diagonals!
I set up the strands to be in pairs of colours so you can easily make a loop with it, but you could differentiate the colours for a different effect.
There are far more red and yellow knots than black ones. You'll want to make those threads about 50% longer to compensate for that.
