If you want to make a pattern with the extra string on both sides you take the first row of the pattern and move it to the bottom so the second row is now the first row. Then you change the string order to aaabbccddeeddccbbaaa and add a bf knot at the beginning of row 1 and 3.

heyy so if you make this i would recommend adding another black string to the left side, to add another straight edge string. I'm really bad at making normal patterns so I wasn't able to make this without adding a black string to the right. So you definitely don't have to but i would recommend just adding another one to the left (if that makes sense)
