@marce11a ugh fumbling fingers today. You can actually add just a filament or two to a full 6 strand floss and not have much change in thickness because they are so thin.

@marce11a No difference as the metallic is a 12 filament floss and basically the same as 6 strand cotton. Okay

@cro_meg27 Lol it’s fine, the meaning still comes across 🤣 Did you notice any difference in thickness, since you were working with 9-stranded thread?

@cro_meg27 I love the result! the metallic color combo works great 👍 I'm tempted to try this with beads too (someday when I have the patience, lol)

@marce11a Oh one more thing. I kinda shit myself in the foot doing BOTH metallic and beads on the same bracelet. I’d worked with beads before and metallic. But something about both at the same time made me a bit batty after a while and I’d have to take a break with an easy bracelet. LOL!

@marce11a Yes, I added about 36 beads on each of the two outside strands. Pushing one up in place before the last knot in the > or < so row 7, 11, 15 etc. As for the metallic it did make it easier to work with. Oddly the metallic doesn’t tangle as much. You do have to make sure your knots are really tight. Smoothing out your working strand before you knot helps too.

@cro_meg27 Did you use the seed beads in the odd-numbered rows with gaps? Also, did blending the metallic and cotton floss together make the metallic easier to work with? I've thought about doing something similar but haven't tried it yet.

I used 3mm seed beads on the edge. And I blended 6 strands of metallic filament with 3 strands of DMC cotton floss. It makes a more sparkly look than the DMC Etoile floss but some might find it still too scratchy. The variegated is from Etsy by Night Stalkers. I love their variegated hand dyed floss the most. It has shorter color sections and tones than other brands. With some of their floss almost every knot is a slightly different tone or color. Makes great bracelets.
