I'm not sure. I would start out by measuring from your hand (holding the string with your fingers and stretching your arm out flat), to the center of your chest...Or roughly three feet.

thank you~ they're not as rounded as I would like but they are balanced, which is mainly what yin-yang symbolizes so it works out in my opinion.
