Thank you @arts_milia for answering @TikanaPera! 🙂 I misunderstood and thought you were asking for the width it would be on a wrist. 😅 @TikanaPera but now I see what you were asking 🙂
If you wanna do just one normal pattern, I think 250-300 (precisely 267 according to some quick calculations, based on a 62 string bracelet I made recently) strings would equal one foot in width. Ofc it depends on knot tension, the width of the strings etc. Hope it helps 😄
@TikanaPera try checking out akaawol (both youtube, instagram and facebook) for inspiration and advice on how to do bigger projects. He does purses, wallets, and other giant knotting projects by combining the same pattern a bunch of times. I've never made anything like that myself, but it seems relatively simple to make bigger projects by multiplying the same pattern 😄 knottyjules on instagram also made some phone cases a while back, and generally does quite big projects, so maybe that would be something?
Just looking for a pattern like this that would end up being about a foot wide and 6 inches long. For a pencil case. I need to see about stitching patterns together.
@TikanaPera good question! I might want to guess that, using DMC 6 strand cotton, maybe it's about an inch maybe? A bracelet that is 40 strings seems to be about an inch and a half for me.
