@chloe0310 either with a triangle or you can tape all the base string the starts with a black string for each triangle then gradually knot more and more base tring in (here is a tutorial explaining how to: tutorials/134_make-patches-applicators-with-alphas/ )... be sure to use the flat technic for color change to ensure the border is held to the center (starting with the middle of the black thread will allow you to knot each border with a side without having to cross from one side to the other)... As we said with @halokiwi it is quite a challenge!

Would I start with a triangle alpha end for each upper triangle? Or how would I start the knotting

@halokiwi now you can knot 😉. I begin with the icosahedron because this is the simplest (on a geometrical point of view: all the triangles are aligned... ok tetrahedron too... it is coming). As I have noticed that knots are not perfect squares (my cube faces ends up 3.2cm wide x 2.7cm height) I have corrected this effect in the geometry (the triangle looks too high in the design. However I forgot that the generator rotate the pattern: so you should knot it as a 89x50 pattern starting with the 5 upper triangles. Once ready sew the side of the right red triangle to the one of the left green one, then close the top and the bottom by sewing the 5 triangles side by side...
