I always find this super amusing because many people don't know that it's not actually pronounced "go" because the g in Dutch is pronounced differently. If you go to the wikipedia article on Vincent van Gogh you can listen to an audio how it's pronounced.

(This is not meant as a criticism btw. I only learned the correct pronunciation around 2 years ago because I went on vacation in the Netherlands. Before that while I pronounced it as something else than go my pronunciation was still wrong. I think the main reason is that the Dutch g sound is not really a sound in most languages. I'm German and we have a similar sound but it only appears in the middle or the end of a word. That's why our pronunciation get's the last g right but not the first one. Both g are pronounced the same way.)
