@stopmelina I agree. It’s not consistently the same people though, so to raise the issue would be to ask that the entire community be better (which is obviously a lot harder than dealing with isolated incidents). I do know for sure of mods who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and I am confident that the vast majority of the BB community supports minority groups. I need to keep thinking about what to propose to the admin because I want to offer at least some attempt at a solution.
@ceg i honestly dont know what a solution could be, but it's pretty upsetting seeing that people are comfortable being as openly homophobic as they can be on this platform. have you noticed if it's the same few people consistently rating your patterns poorly? maybe send admin that kind of information and see what them and the mods come up with as a solution. i feel like there are good odds that there are some mods who are a part of the lgbt+ community or allies and i'm sure they don't want homophobia/transphobia on this website
@stopmelina@Ava7475 I've thought about bringing this up with the admin, but I don't know exactly how to address it. If people genuinely think that a bracelet is sub-par and it happens to be a pride pattern, then they have every right to give it a bad rating. But I've seen what I assume is people going through my profile or keywords and selectively rating the pride/BLM patterns with 1 star. Even on my profile page there is a fairly clear pattern of lower ratings for the pride/BLM patterns. I think it's definitely a problem on BB right now; I guess I just don't know what solutions I could even propose. If you all have any suggestions or other concerns, I would love to hear them because I feel very strongly that BB should be a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space.
