In retrospect, the mistake seems pretty stupid. It's weird i never noticed that alpha patterns were like that. I'm fairly new to alphas (I've mostly made normal patterns before)but still sorry for wasting your time

@idk_cats yes. To make sure, you can also look at the dimensions. They tell you how many knots the pattern is wide and high.

Ah ok. Thanks for letting me know. So if the pattern says any number of strings, i should have one less?

@idk_cats hi, the string count in alpha patterns is always the amount of base strings plus one extra for the leading string. This is not determined by the user posting the pattern and it is the case for all alpha patterns across the whole database. Once you are aware of it, it should no longer be an issue.

Hi! I was making this pattern and I thought i made a mistake because at the wnd of the row, there should be 10 knots of black and i had 11 strings. After counting the knots on the pattern, i noticed that the pattern has only 28 strings. The pattern imfo says 29 strings so i had started with that many.It would be great if you could edit the pattern info and change it to 28 so no one would make such a mistake in the future.
