@anniee_ee Have you done Alphas before? If so, I'll be able to explain this to you. If you haven't done Alphas before, I wouldn't recommend this one as your first one, just because it's shaped. I would go with one of these three, whichever you like: #40357 #45618 #34719 In row 1, the first knot would be over 3 base strings, and in the first knot of the second row, you would make a knot over 2 base strings. Does that make sense? I hope that helped! |

@anniee_ee are you new to alphas in general or new to shaped alphas?If you are new to alphas, I recommend watching MashaKnots' video on the flat alpha technique. If you are new to shaped alphas, I recommend watching one of the videos posted to #89623 or #49390. And yes, you have eleven base strings. At some points in the pattern there are loose base strings. You hide these loose base strings in the knots at the edges. For example in row one, your first knot is made around three base strings at once to hide the two loose base strings. |

Hello I was just wondering becuase I am knew to this do I have to have 11 strings of like the base strings and then I get the colours and then knot them on?
