@lauraslays If you are wanting to make it like mine, you will need a dowel, I cut mine to 4 inches. The base strings, making it sideways (like I did) is 48 but you want to double the length and only cut half, so that you can loop them around the dowel. 48÷2= 24 I always cut my base strings longer than necessary, because you can always cut shorter but you can't make it longer! My tapestry (including the tassel ends) is 4 1/2 inches. 4 1/2 × 2 = 9 inches + 2 inches (just Incase) = 11 inches Each base string at 11 inches, fold in half and loop around the dowel, then pull through the loop. So again 24 base strings at 11 inches each or longer if you choose a different ending etc,. |
