@AshTheFox look up 'pink triangle' to learn where this symbol comes from and what it stands for. The black triangle has a similar origin, but wasn't exclusively used for lesbians, but for so called 'asocials'. Lesbians later claimed it as their symbol as an equivalent to the pink triangle. I don't want to go more into detail what the origin is because it is very upsetting. Keep that in mind when you are looking it up.
