@J3ssica well, in English we read from left to right, so it's the "<x" that means "less than x" and ">x" that means "greater than x", not the other way around. (coming from someone who does like math and is a programmer)You said it yourself: 10 > 8 means "ten is greater than eight". Therefore, >8 means "greater than eight". Therefore, <8 means the opposite: "less than eight". Therefore, <10 means "less than ten". Do you already have a pattern in mind to join with? |

@J3ssicaIn primary school we learned the < and > sign by imagining a crocodile or dog that is always opening its mouth to the side with more food <𝟭𝟬 looks like the mouth is opening to the side with 𝟭𝟬, so on the other side there would be something that is less than 𝟭𝟬 |

I guess I should start making more patterns 🤷 I’m not used to the pattern creator yet lol last time I kinda just put some knots in and then corrected it idk how people make such intricate normal patterns especially 1212s lol. Do you guys do 2 rows and then fix it and do 2 more rows and repeat?

@Izzy_Raver 1212s are actually among the easiest patterns to design.You have the string order abababab... And the knotting structure fb,fb,fb,fb... bf,bf,bf... Then you can just switch the knots you want to change to the 'opposite' type (fb to bf and bf to fb) to 'draw' your design |
