@8renda: 1 pt 🌕@AlmaLlama: 1 pt 🌕@BlueCat123:1pt 🌕@Emakes:1pt 🌕@Fronkie_:1pt 🌕@Grenda:1pt 🌕@Kaily:1pt 🌕@karalee98:1pt 🌕@Orsi13:1pt 🌕@stefs_Stuf :1pt 🌕@Unicorns4:1ptHi everyone, and Happy New Year! I’m so glad so many people are excited to be a part of this challenge already; I’ve tagged everyone from the original rules post, but anyone is welcome to join at any time! I also gave everyone who commented on the original post 1 “Early Bird” point 🙂 Thanks for being so excited about the challenge! January’s full moon is called the Wolf Moon. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, “Between the haunting howls and deep-rooted mythology, the wolf is undoubtedly an iconic creature deserving of its association with the full Moon. The name for the January full Moon is believed to have originated from Celtic and Old English roots, which European settlers then brought to the New World. No matter where the settlers landed in North America, they surely encountered the familiar call of the wolf. At one point, gray wolves were among the most widespread land mammals on our planet.” (More info at https://www.farmersalmanac.com/january-full-wolf-moon) This years Full Wolf Moon is on January 25th, at 12:54 EST. 🐺January Scoring Guidelines Category - Wolf Moon: Pattern must be wolf-related. Doesn’t have to be a full body image of a wolf; you could do a silhouette, a face, even just paw prints. Scoring Each of the following categories will be worth 5 pts: -Pattern choice/razzle dazzle -Edges & endings -Knot Tension -Photo 🐺BONUS POINTS: Some of the phases are named solely based on changes in our surroundings, like the Harvest Moon or Snow Moon. However, the wolf was chosen in part due to their relationship with the moon itself. ✨+1 bonus point for any design including a moon.✨ Another name for the January Full Moon in the Great Lakes Region of the United States (where I’m from) is the Bear Moon. ✨+1 bonus point for any design also containing a bear.✨ 🐺Multiple entries allowed and encouraged! Submit whatever you’d like-bracelets, keychains, bookmarks, wallhangs, etc. Your highest scoring creation will be entered. Ties will be broken with the second highest, etc. So if two people have the same score but one person submitted 2 creations, that person would win for the month. If both submitted 2+ creations, whoever scored highest with their second bracelet wins. ✨NOTE ✨Using charms, beads, etc. to fit the theme also counts! So, if you chose a pattern that just had the moon and some stars but put a wolf charm on it, you would still be in the theme and even get a bonus point. I hope that makes sense lol 🌕DUE: January 30th. Winners announced on the 31st! 🌕 🐺Monthly Challenge Prizes 1st: Shoutout in my bio for the month, 5 bonus points in yearly challenge, loves on 5 patterns 2nd: 3 bonus points in yearly challenge, love on 5 patterns 3rd: 1 bonus point in yearly challenge, love on 3 patterns If you’d like to view the rules and prizes for the year-long challenge, they’re all here: https://www.braceletbook.com/forum/9_challenges/33273_2024-lunar-calendar-challenge-sign-upsrules/#460145 Happy knotting everyone! Here’s to a great year! |

@vale_23 I’d prefer you let me know what pattern you’re doing so I can make sure that people are fitting within the theme, but you’re also free to change your mind 🙂 Plus it helps other people get ideas/see what everyone else is making!@BlueCat123 Perfect choice! You’ll get a bonus point for the moon in the image! @8renda Yep! It doesn’t even have to have a moon in it, that’s just worth extra points! @J3ssica, you’re in! Whenever you decide, let me know 🙂 There are a ton of cool wolf wallhangings. Also, I posted in the rules page about late subs but I’ll say it here too: if it ends up taking you more than a month you can still submit it for points in the year-long challenge, so don’t get discouraged if it ends up being a big undertaking! You got this. |

I'm already so jazzed to see everyone's finished creations! If anyone is interested in doing a small keychain or bracelet, I also designed #162495 that would work for this month! It's pretty simple since a lot of the wolf patterns are pretty big 🙂 |

Hi! I'll be doing #9779 and maybe #139139One question though, is it okay to submit two separate photos (one per pattern), or should it be one picture with both bracelets? |

@Unicorns4 Two separate photos is best, just let me know when they go up so I can keep track on my end 🙂
