Hi everyone! I'd like to *attempt* to host a year-long challenge! 😲 As you can see the theme is the 🌕Lunar Calendar🌕 The challenge doesn't start until Jan 1 but there's a lot going on here, so I wanted to make a "rules" sheet I could link to every month. 🌙The Algonquin Tribe of Native America came up with the names for the "lunar months" used in the almanac today; their entire calendar system was actually based around the full moon! The full moon is very important to me in my art and spiritual life, and I know it is for many other people. So I wanted to create a challenge to celebrate the full moon, and educate people on the Algonquin Lunar Calender! 🌙On the first of each month, I'll post: -The name/theme for the month's full moon -some background info on where this name came from -A scoring guideline -The updated scores of everyone competing in the challenge! 🌙So, to be clear, there will be a new challenge posted each month that you can compete in for small prizes. I will also be tallying up people's total scores month to month for much bigger prizes at the end of the year. ✨️For the monthly challenge✨️ Your highest scoring bracelet will be entered. Ties will be broken with second highest bracelet, etc. So if two ppl have the same score but one person submitted 2 bracelets, that person would win for the month. If both submitted 2+ bracelets, whoever scored highest with their second bracelet wins. 🌙Bracelet scoring- Each of the following categories will be worth 5 pts: -Pattern choice/razzle dazzle -Edges & endings -Knot Tension -Photo (There will also be two bonus points available each month) 🌙Monthly Challenge Prizes 1st: Shoutout in my bio for the month, 5 bonus points in yearly challenge, loves on 5 patterns 2nd place: 3 bonus points in yearly challenge, love on 5 patterns 3rd: 1 bonus point in yearly challenge, love on 3 patterns ✨️For the yearly challenge✨️ Each bracelet you create is entered. You will also get 5 points for winning a month, 3 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd. At the end of each month I'll tally up your total points earned and divide it by 4 so the numbers don't get out of control fast haha. So, a "perfect" bracelet (20 points, no bonuses) = 5 points in the yearly ranking. 1 "perfect" bracelet a month, no bonus points = 60 points. 🌝Yearly Challenge Prizes🌝 🌚10-20 pts: Loves on 5 patterns, comments on 3 patterns, friend request 🌒21-40 pts: I pick 1 of your patterns to do, love on 5 patterns, comments on 3 patterns, fr 🌓41-60 pts: You pick 1 pattern for me to do, love on 10 patterns, comments on 5 🌔61-80 pts: You pick 1 pattern I pick 1 pattern, love on 10, comments on 5 🌕80+ pts: FR, You pick 2 patterns, love on 10, comments on 5, permanent shutout in bio and custom pattern design of your choice! I'm so glad so many people are excited about this challenge! I'll be posting the first monthly challenge tomorrow and make sure I tag everyone whose commented here so far 🙂 @AlmaLlama sort of! Each month there will be a theme based on the name of the Full Moon that month (for example, January is the wolf moon, so the theme will be wolves). Since it is such a long challenge like you were saying, you can do as many or as few months as you would like. Even if you only did one bracelet half of the months, you would still earn about 30 points! And if you really like a month (one month is just "pink", one is "flower") you could do multiple and earn extra points. |

Since I’m using this as a rules page I’m going to post this here: LATE SUBMISSIONS: The monthly challenge is posted on the first of every month, and the winner is announced on the last day of the month. However, since this is technically a year-long challenge late submissions will *always be allowed*. Obviously you would be disqualified from winning for that specific month, but I will still tally those points up for the yearly prizes. The only catch is each design turned in late will get an automatic 4 point deduction, or 1 full point on the year-long challenge. This also means that if you’re more of a wall hanging person and you just want to participate in a few To turn in a late design, just comment when the photo is up on the original month it was from, not the current month. The points will be reflected in your score at the beginning of the next month. So for example, if you finished a wall hang from January in March you would comment on the January challenge. When the April challenge starts, your new score for the year-long challenge will include the points you earned on the March Challenge plus your late submission points. |
