I'm thinking about doubling up the thread and trying #126722 just to get a feel for working with the thread before making something so intricate, do you think that'd be doable?

@leviOsa_09 It might look nice if you could manage to leave out loops of thread between each knot. Then it might look lacey.

This was a lot of fun I'll probably make a full sized version of this pattern at some point too.There was quite a bit of wear on the base strings, I was able to finish it ok but there would probably be problems making anything longer. An idea I had when I was working on it was that it might be a good idea to coat the base strings with beeswax. I haven't tried it but that's used in hand sewing to reduce the wear on the thread. I haven't decided on a pattern yet but I'll do another one. Something small like a miniature key chain. |
