Hi!This is a challenge where every participant will make a pattern of another participant, and in turn, every participant will have one of their patterns made! 🔥 -- THE CHALLENGE -- 🔥 It's a bit like Secret Santa: When the challenge starts, I will draw lots for every participant, so everyone will make one pattern of someone else and everyone will have one of their patterns made by another participant in the challenge. The result must be photographed and uploaded as a new photo to the pattern. 🔥 -- THE RULES -- 🔥 1. In order that no one will be overwhelmed by having to make a gigantic pattern, every participant should have at least one of the following: - a normal pattern with 20 or less strings (dimensions 10x... or less) - an alpha pattern with less than 1500 knots in total (e.g. dimensions 17x72 would be 1224 knots in total) 2. When you have been assigned a user of whom you should make a pattern, you can choose whichever pattern of theirs you want to make - it can be bigger than the dimensions given above if you think you can handle it. I want everyone to have the option to choose something halfway beginner-friendly, so everyone can participate. However, there is a chance you'll have to make a pattern of a person who only posted alpha patterns, or a person who only posted normals. That means you have be cool with making either if you want to enter this challenge. 3. You will have to upload a picture of your finished work before or on the 21st of August. If the photo is only accepted after it's over - that's okay. Just be sure you can finish before the due date. 4. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Please absolutely make sure you can finish this challenge before you sign up! If you drop out, that means another person does not get their pattern made, even though they did all the work. I'm sure they were looking forward to seeing your photo. That's not fair on the other person. For that reason, I will not allow anyone who drops out of this after the 17th of July to enter any future challenges I make of this kind, until you finish this challenge. This may seem harsh, but it's the only way I can think of to prevent bad actors. I do believe that 99% of dropouts are not bad actors, though. And I do understand that sometimes, unpredictable things just happen. So if you notice you might not be able to finish this challenge, please let me know as soon as possible! I promise I won't be mad. The sooner you let me know, the less trouble I have to find a solution. 5. This is not a rule, just a suggestion: If you want to be extra nice, you can try to choose a pattern that does not have any photos yet. That will make the creator of the pattern extra happy! 🔥 -- DUE DATES -- 🔥 This challenge will start either when we reach 10 participants, or on the 17th of July (whichever happens first). Then, I will assign everyone a person of whom you'll choose a pattern to make. This person is chosen by a raffle. After that, you have until the 21st of August to finish and upload your photo of the pattern you chose. I might check in some time before that date with anyone whom I've not heard back from, just to be sure that nobody dropped out and forget to tell me. So don't be surprised if I do that, it's not meant to stress you out or anything, I just want to check. 🙂 I'll be participating myself, again, because I had a blast last time! Welcome to the challenge! 😊Just be aware that you can't begin to make the pattern until after the 17th of July, because you might not know which person you're partnered with before then. But if you have enough time between the 17th of July and the 21st of August, then that's no problem at all! |
