helloo guys i mainly hv an overall questionhow many knots (forward, backward etc) can one skien of string make? im planning on making a 90x90 wallhanging of many colors, not sure how many skiens i should buy for other colors (30+), not the leading string I do have the design so I know how many knots I will be doing for each color just not sure how many knots can a regular skien make tysm everyone โค๏ธ |

but then i hv tried sth using a site and using cross stitch as a reference for the numbers of skeins for the string needed for knots

ok, so i would make a 3-4 string alpha with no color switches and use one foot of string for the knots, maybe like cut a 2 foot piece and once you tie the first knot, measure how many inches it is, then measure it every so often while knotting until the string is 12 inches less then the starting number. then count how many knots you tied and subtract 1, for the first knot that wasnโt measured into the string, if your using 8 m skeins, then its just over 26 feet of string per skien, so multiply however many knots you tied by 26 and thats about how many knots a skien can make, but i would get 1-2 extra to be safe. also sorry i cant give you a general answer, cause everyone ties knots differently and uses ip different amounts of string for each knot, depending on the tightness and thickness of the string. hope this helps snd lmk if you have any questions!!
