Hello! I see you've clicked on my challenge! Welcome, welcome! I suppose you're probably wondering what this is about...Before I begin, I'll make a small disclaimer: I'm not into actual races and know very little about them, as such- This challenge is ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ต based on any actual races, but it is, in fact, a set of Summer Races itself. Now that that's out of the way, what is this, anyways? ๐ฅ Each week over my Summer Break, I'll post a pattern, and the first person to pm me that their picture has been ๐ข๐ค๐ค๐ฆ๐ฑ๐ต๐ฆ๐ฅ (sorry, but this is for verification purposes) will receive a shoutout in my bio for the ๐ following week. ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ : ๐ I will be participating, but I will under no circumstances claim any prize (I'm doing this to improve my own knotting speed, and it would be pointless for me to claim said prize) ๐ฅ The patterns will be relatively big, as to keep myself challenged to complete them in a single week ๐ I will choose the pattern for the week and announce it on the Saturday before the week, ๐๐๐ ๐น๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐ ๐๐. I'll announce the patterns on Saturday to give you time to make your colour and technique choices. The races run Sunday to Saturday. ๐ฅ I will announce the winner on the Sunday after the race ends to give everybody maximum time to finish. This is also when I will give the shoutout in my bio. I will tag participants here, too. ๐ There is no obligation to participate in every race, but I will document who participates when (if this makes you uncomfortable, tell me at the beginning of the week and I will not document your participation, but you will also forfeit the following, as your participation will not be documented) and give special prizes to the person who participated in the most races, who won the most races (in the event these are the same person, I will give the second prize to the runner up for participation in the most races), the person who I deem had the highest quality bracelets throughout the challenge, and the person who I deem has shown the most improvement throughout the challenge. I figure if I'm going to be combing through these pictures anyways, I might as well award any improvements I notice! ๐ฅ I will announce ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ข๐ต we're making with the pattern, this is essentially how big you need to make the pattern. Typically, I will say bracelet, but I might do a smaller pattern and say anklet or a bigger pattern and say keychain or something. ๐ You can join for any round! Don't be scared! ๐ฅ ๐ How To Enter: Tell me you're participating in Week X's Race after I announce the pattern! (I might ask for something more at my discretion, e.i. colour choice) ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ How To Participate: Knot that pattern!!! ๐ฅ You can use any colors you'd like. ๐ You can use any techniques you'd like. Make your bracelet as fancy or simple as you'd like, but remember this is a race, and it's the first bracelet finished that claims the prize, not the fanciest one. ๐ฅ You must completely knot the pattern to the specification of the race (bracelet, anklet, whatever I said when I announced the pattern). Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the round (not the entire challenge), and you will be unable to collect any prizes for that round (including the "special prizes" at the end, meaning this round won't count towards those for you).Note: I'm not going to just go around disqualifying people for this. Unless you do something like make a keychain when I said bracelet so you can get the picture in sooner, I'm probably not going to disqualify you for this. ๐ Upload a picture of your finished project! Put "Summer Races" in the picture somewhere! ๐ฅ ๐ Once your picture has been accepted, PM Me that you've finished!!! This is the most important part!!! If you do not PM me that your picture has been accepted, you will be ineligible for prizes! DO NOT POST THAT YOU HAVE FINISHED IN THIS THREAD!!! July 12th through July 17th ๐ Week Seven: July 18th through July 24th ๐ฅ Week Eight: July 25th through July 31st ๐ Week Nine: August 1st through August 7th ๐ฅ Week Ten: August 8th through August 14th ๐ Week Eleven: August 15th through August 21st ๐ฅ Week Twelve: ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐ (2) August 22nd through August 28th ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐๐ ๐ ๐ 1. I will be disconnected from the internet for the entire week of July 4th-10th, meaning I may be announcing the pattern for week six a bit later than usual, possibly not even until Sunday. To compensate, I will be using an easier pattern for this week. Everything else will continue as normal. Week five will be excluded from the "special prizes". 2. I will be disconnected from the internet for the weekend of August 27th-29th, meaning the last winner will not be announced until late Sunday or perhaps the following Monday. This is also when I will announce the "special prizes". ๐ The First pattern will be announced on June 5th! |

The day has come!The week one pattern is #70431! The race is to finish the alpha pattern! It's really small compared to the other patterns I have lined up, but it's so adorable! And it needs so many colors... I thought it would work nicely for the first week so we can get used to the formatting. |

Oh my God- I feel like I abandoned this thread. A stomach bug went through my house last week and I didn't get more than half way through anything I wanted to get done... And haven't been on here in a long time ๐To answer your question a week later, @grace4638, you would have been welcome to join, but I would have asked that you knot #70431 for the challenge because the idea of the challenge is that all participants knot the same pattern. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, and I hope you went ahead with your knotting plans all the same. The pattern you chose is completely adorable (and possibly onto my todo list for later this Summer, though separate from the races), and I'd love to see it if you knot it! It's just that this challenge is to make the specific pattern. Sorry again for my recent absence! I'll post this week's pattern in a few minutes. |

This week's pattern is #34559 and the goal is to make a bracelet. This pattern is much, much bigger than last week's pattern and is more in the ball park of the rest of the patterns involved (possibly a bit on the larger side, to be honest). I'm doing mine in varying degrees of red and black because I saw a picture of it done like that on Pinterest and it's lovely. Good luck to everybody and anybody....
