happy new year! i hope you guys are having a great year so far and welcome to this challenge! as you know by the title of this challenge, i've decided to host a random pattern challenge. just a quick disclaimer that this is not my original idea for a challenge. it was inspired by a youtube video that @_kinseyb did a while ago. i will list the rules first and then explain how this is going to work. so lets start off with the rules which are pretty simple. RULES: -you are allowed to make any kind of pattern (alpha or normal) and it can be a keychain, wall hanging, bracelet, etc. -there will be a prize which is a shoutout in my bio for a month. -this challenge ends on January 31 so the winner will get a shoutout for all of February. -i can extend the deadline if needed but it depends how far into this challenge we are. -if you don't finish in time there's no need to apologize. many of us have school and i completely understand if you can't finish! -i will allow you to choose whatever colors you want for the pattern you end up with. -when you have a pattern selected, comment on this forum and let me know what pattern you got. -when you're done with the pattern, submit a photo to bb and tag me in the comments of the pattern. now for finding the pattern. what you will have to do is use a device and type in "random number generator" something should come up at the top of your screen that has numbers and a button saying generate. basically what you'll do is type in the most recent pattern number on bb as the "max number" and leave 1 as the "minimum number." as i am typing this the most recent pattern is #68382 so i would type that as the "max number" and leave 1 as the "minimum number." then i would press generate and whatever pattern i get is the pattern i will make. the exceptions for generating more than one number are: if the pattern doesn't exist, if you don't want an alpha and generate one, if you don't want a normal and generate one, and finally if the pattern you get is very large (like 70 strings or another large number) then you may generate a new one. have fun and happy knotting! -danielle |
