Ok just finished looking. These patterns are beautiful! But... they are way too big for me. I don’t have time to be working on an a million string bracelet all day every day until it is finished because I can barely finish a 10 string bracelet! My life is too busy for bracelets that will take like a long time to make. I would love it if you could at least add one easy normal pattern with like 6-10 strings and an alpha that is around like 10-15 strings. The shaped patterns are way too big for my likings. I don’t want to waste all of my string on one bracelet when I could make a whole bunch of small bracelets. I also can’t handle wearing anything thicker than 12 strings so that big bracelet would just stay in my bracelet stash. I also don’t live very close to a store that sells string so if I run out of a colour I have to wait a long time to get some more.

I don't think you sound hateful @horses13 🙂 thank you for being considerate and polite 🙂I see your point 🙂 this is the first time a group of us moderators put together the official monthly challenge, as we usually make the official weekly challenges. Therefore, we just were really excited to be picking larger patterns than usual, because for weekly challenges we usually pick smaller patterns that can be made within a week. While I personally think that the lengths for these bracelets are an appropriate challenge to be worked on for a month's time, I understand that some of them might be too difficult or two large for people who are busy. If we're ever able to do the monthly challenge again, we'll keep that in mind and try to pick a couple of 10 or 12 stringed ones next time (if there is a next time) 🙂 |

@horses13 If you want to, you can make #63296 from a 16 string to a 12 string. If you print the pattern, and cut off the first and last knot of every row of the directions, the pattern will still work, and you'll only need the middle 12 strings instead of 16. It won't look quite the same because the border won't be there, but the design will still be intact. That pattern is mine, so I don't mind accepting it without the border 🙂 plus, if someone were to submit my pattern without the borders, they wouldn't be able to because it would still be considered the same pattern 🙂 so in accordance to that, I think it's okay if you make it without the border if you can't make it with 16 strings 🙂

@Top_Xoxo the alphas are relatively small so they would definitely be doable until the end of the month. Many are keychain sized.This normal pattern is the smallest from the normal pattern list #62278. It's 14 strings. You could maybe make a keychain from it if you don't want to do a full bracelet until the end of the month. |
