Hi! I haven't seen any challenges on here so far for this, so I thought I'd make one. Orange Shirt Day is today, Sept 30. Starting in the 1860s Metis, Inuit, and Indigenous children were taken from the lands of their ancestors, shipped to Canada, and forced to attend church-run government-backed schools. In doing so these children were stripped of their cultures, forced to learn and speak in English or French instead of their ancestral languages, forced into Christianity, and placed into a Canadian society where they were expected to fit in. The last of these residential schools closed in 1996, and since then Canada has revealed the names of 2,800 children that died while attending these schools. Since 2013 on September 30th people have been wearing orange shirts in honor of the Indigenous children forced to attend such cruel institutions. (find out more at cbc.ca) My school has a uniform dress code so I wasn't able to wear an orange shirt today, but I want to try to find as many Indigenous and appropriate orange-themed bracelet patterns on here to show my support. No reward!!!! Purely a challenge for showing support of Indigenous peoples. Indigenous peoples have mostly been erased from America's history, and we should work toward fixing this. I know it's not much, but I'd like to do as much as I can, especially going forward.

I will try to join, but it’ll be hard to find patterns that are just orange because there is no color sorting except for sorting out how many colors are in patterns. But maybe like orange chevrons or something or I can make a bracelet with beads weaved into it saying “Orange Shirt Day”

@09_blehh_2 that's okay! Yeah I don't think many people (myself included) can finish a bracelet that fast. Any contribution of support is a big one no matter what size though!!

@Elise64 @Bracefacer that's okay!! I believe any show of support is huge. I would've made this challenge on here sooner but I only found out this morning!
