cross stitch patterns for large alphas??

I was looking through big alphas to make wall hangings and then I came across cross stitching patterns and they're basically pixelated photos just like the alphas on here but bigger. my question is has anyone tried using cross stitching patterns in making alphas cause I'm interested in knowing if it actually works before I actually try it

I haven’t personally tried, but I’m sure it would work, because Ive embroidered on alphas following some embroidery patterns and it went great!

I did once, I counted each x shape as one pixel and copied it down on graph paper

and how was the final result? does it become smaller compared to if you just cross stitched it or does it look just like if you used the patterns in here?
