My alphas are really puffy, even when using the flat alpha technique. I’ve also tried making the bottom knot of a color switch loose, and the top tight, but that doesn’t work either. Any tips?

After making the switch, I pull the string of the old color a little bit while holding the switching knot with my fingernail, so the knot will be flat and my alpha is not holey too. I hope this helps!

@Racoon (aka MashaKnots on YT) has a really really good tutorial for the flat alpha technique, and it really helped to improve my alphas. You should try this technique if you would like to see fast improvement in your alphas 🙂 btw hope this helps! 😊

Make sure all your knots are relatively the same size! Don't make one too tight, and another too loose. I've been practicing making my knots uniform and it's really helped!!

I recommend using the same brand of string for all of your colors to keep it consistent

Your alphas could also be puffy because you're pulling on the background string too tight during a color switch and that could be pushing the sides of the bracelet together and making it puffy. I just looked on your profile and I think that your alphas look great! (especially the flamingo 😍) |

@rubisaa11 Thank you so much! @beaumont @nev_m_07 I do use that flat alpha technique already, but thank you!

Maybe you could use waxed string, I saw someone do that and their alpha came out flat
