You can wind them in cardboard or white card stock. Idk lol or wind them around your hands into a little bow thing lol

Gonna be honest, what works for me is not winding the thread on anything. I just keep the skeins in boxes organized by brand. You could also organize by color. I have put the skeins in color-organized bags in the past. It definitely is not the best way of organization but it works for my brain since I am kinda an unorganized, all over the place kinda person.

Take the thread and wrap it around your fingers, then wrap around the bundle. Unwrap the bundle as needed. I'm too cheap to buy bobbins and this is a great solution. 👍

This might sound stupid but maybe save your toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls, and just wrap the string around those and just tape the ends down. Might not save a bunch of space but in theory it could work.

I would take cereal boxes and cut them into squares or rectangles and use that. I found cardboard from amazon boxes and that sort of thing to be a little too thick, but that is just my personal preference.

@Fluffypand i made my own bobbins. using water color paper/ any thick paper and i traced a “bobbin stencil” from google onto the paper then cut them out. hope this makes sense!

When I first didn’t know where to buy bobbins I used a granola bar box and cut them into small rectangles. I would also cut a slit on each smaller side of the rectangle to keep the thread in so in doesn’t unwind

I keep mine in plastic pencil cases, one is for newer string and one is filled with scraps and bracelets I'm working on. But for bobbins you can use scraps of cardboard cut into squares 🙂

almost anything could work as long as its sturdy like i ripped apart a extra gum box ( if thats even what you call that ) and used that i would say recycle cardboard boxes etc.

The carboard will work out well. also you could just wrap it around and make a little bow too that worked when you don't have cardboard or anything

I use small pieces of paper like a folded sheet of paper into about 12 pieces and cut them out and fold them into thinner rectangles and then sort of fold the rectangle in half but not all the way but so it’s kind of a 90° angle and wrap my thread onto that

You can use some cardboard from a box and cut some slits for the estate and end of your thread

Take the papers off the thread, then fold it in 3 and place it in a space of a bead box. Sorry if that is confusing!
