DMC Floss vs DMC pearl cotton vs Craft Thread. Which do you use the most/prefer?

I use embroidery thread (XD) but I have heard that all types of DMC thread are good, as well as craft cord and Plliey threads (I think that's how you spell it).😄 |

DMC Floss and Perle Cotton for me. I also really like Anchor for floss. I use a lot of crochet thread too.

I have never tried the DMC pearl cotton thread, but based on how it looks I can imagine it'd be pretty similar to craft thread (I am not 100% positive though so if I am wrong please lmk!) I have a ton of craft thread that I hardly ever use just because I prefer DMC/embroidery floss. While DMC is my favorite brand of embroidery floss, there are definitely other brands that are good. Loops & threads, prism (which is a sub-brand of dmc) and iris brand threads are all brands I use regularly and find that they work just as well as DMC. The only difference is the makeup of the thread. I don't think DMC is 100% cotton, so it is softer than the other brands I mentioned. Going back to craft thread, the colors can be more vibrant sometimes but I find that it gives a rougher texture to the bracelet in my opinion. One advantage of craft thread is that it doesn't unwind or fray. However, there is no sparkly or metallic craft thread. In the end, it's all about your personal preference. I personally use embroidery thread, but the other two are also totally okay to use.
