Tips from people with cartilage piercings?

Yesterday I got two rings/hoops in the helix of my ear. Because of the discomfort I’m nervous about taking showers and my hair because it is long and tangles easily. Does anyone have any tips that could help?

I never experienced any pain while taking showers, unless my hand accidentally bumped the piercing. I actually recommend buying antibacterial hand soap and gently washing your ear with it in the shower. My hair never really catches on my piercings, but if it’s a problem for you then putting your hair up will probably help. I have twelve ear piercings and half of them are helix piercings, so I can help if you have any other questions😊
