are the mods a little rude to some people? am i being sensitive? because sometimes i just feel like they aren't the nicest????

the only reason i ask is because i feel like sometimes they reject pattern after pattern, even after correcting what was 'wrong' with it. i've asked if there's any reason why and gotten no response. kinda makes me not want to submit anymore, you know?

They have specific rules that they have to follow and so many people submit patterns that they don’t have time to type out exactly why they denied your pattern. Please don’t take offense to this! They’re just following the rules and doing their job

There should be a message at the top of the pattern telling you why it was declined

They have set messages that they can send and there really are too many patterns and photos etc for them to approve for them to spend much time over each one. They don't mean to be rude, but that's how the messages are phrased.

I agree with @AkreylaG , I can definitely see that some of the preset decline messages can be misinterpreted--especially when you can't tell the connotation of a message is positive or negative. When I started out moderating I would write out every decline message so that they didn't come off as rude (because of course that's not our intentions at all!), but since the site has become so popular recently, it's much easier to go to the drop-down and pick the corresponding decline message. :/
