I have been doing digital art on my ipad for a few months now, but im thinking of getting a drawing tablet, the ones that you connect to a laptop. I just need one to draw on, even if it doesnt have a screen. My mom said i could get one if my grades are good enough this year, but im worried i wont like it, and ill just end up wasting it. Please help meeeeee

I have a wacom intuous myself! (the small size) which is a decent starting tablet

the wacom one (small) is also really cheap and has decent pressure sensitivity levels (plus its more compact and the active "touch screen"doesnt differ too much of the intuous)

wacom is one of the more well known and trustworthy brands (since I got my first tablet) but theres been a few more brand rising up? like huion... I know I had a ten year old tablet (one of the wacom bamboos) and when I recently gave it to a firend for free it still had recently updated drivers for windows on the wacom site o/

either way I would indeed suggest to get one witouth a screen first, so essentially just the stylus pad type, and do remember you also need to look at drawing software! pohotshop is super expensive, but Clip studio paint is 20 bucks whenever its on sale, there's also paint tool sai, autodesk sketchbook (free) ect

hmm it depends on what you personally prefer, I suggest looking at some comparison sites for example
https://www.predictiveanalyticstoday.com/top-free-drawing-software/

I've never really used free software but recently installed autodesk sketchbook, since I liked their mobile app and it's free

I did find clip studio paint nice to use, with plenty of features and its got a three month free trial (currently $49, but when it is on sale around $22)
paint tool sai is what I used when I first started, and it was a 31 day free trial, thoguh the full licence is about $50 dollars

hope this helps!

also note when you do want a paid software, look if its one time paying, own the software forever, or if it is subscription based like some "high" end software tend to be
