How do people find the time and money to make bracelets?

While talking with another user I realized how much money crafting can be sometimes. And I was wondering how people make them for making bracelets and videos, etc. even with summer and when things were closed down. I never had time or do other things that I liked besides making bracelets like knitting. So how do you find time to make bracelets? And do you feel making crafts can be expensive?

To be honest making bracelets is something I love to do, my second hobby (I only have two) so I am willing to spend some money and time to make something cool (: and videos (:

@Clairaland it isn’t as easy for me I have a million hobbies (not litterally but I do have a lot) and so bracelet making has been my biggest one lately.

Well then maybe spend like an hour or two whenever you feel because then you can also do other things ...like plan it out so you have time to do other hobbies as well (:

I usually buy string in bulk so it ends up being pretty cheap. And time-wise, I just make sure to set aside at least half an hour every day for bracelets

I bought string in bulk so it was pretty cheap and I normally don’t have a lot of hobbies, but especially not during quarantine. So I make bracelets probably like 5 hours a day. Yesterday I made this one for my cousin and I spent like 8 hours on that 😂

The two things I do in my day are read, and when I’m not reading I’m making bracelets and listening to audiobooks. As I’m still in primary school I don’t get much homework neither much schoolwork when doing remote learning because of covid. When schools were open I would make bracelets and talk to my friends when students were forced outside, though it was kinda hard to do that as a had sometimes up to 5 random people I did not know just watching me. (And my friends say I’m the creepy one!)

@Clairaland @madeleine_ @tincan_1 @sheepie thank you for responding! Funny thing is I am always making bracelets in my spare time and even in busy times. I do it all day if I can, I bring my clipboard and bag of materials everywhere: in the car, to my neighbours, to my friends, to camping, to cottages, like even when my family has company over now I will be making bracelets. I find that I cannot make time for my other hobbies because I'm trapped in a bracelet addiction to the point where if I am sitting around doing nothing I feel like I'm in a completely blank zone because bracelets are the key factor that make me stay stress free and it relieves me of all my physical pain and my tinnitus. So I only asked because I was wondering it cant really benefit me unless I had said how to make time for other hobbies aka how to pull myself out of a bracelet fantasy world. I'm not kidding when I say the first and last thing I think about is bracelets.

Ooops anyway @2006_Mandy I don’t really know how to stop. My mom is constantly telling me to lol. But sometimes I need to stop, because if I bend over to much my back hurts which gives me migraines (headaches) and then I need to stop for a couple hours. But I’m so bored I that time

For me, because school has been canceled, have had so much more time to be making bracelets. It was also my birthday recently and I was able to buy new string.

quarantine. i literally have so much free time now that i spend about 2 hours or more making bracelets per day. i also spend a lot of time making patterns and browsing through bracelet book which really inspires me to keep knotting. also, friendship bracelets is my main hobby besides singing and clarinet. as for money, i just buy string whenever i need it. like if i run out of a color, i just go on amazon and buy the colors i need. i don’t usually spend a lot of money on string. 🙂

I rarely just make bracelets. Usually I watch a movie, show or youtube, maybe make a few knots when I'm drinking coffee in the morning.

For me this was actually one of my cheapest hobbies! I order my string in bulk if I do pay for it, but typically I just ask for it for birthdays or holidays so I don’t spend anything there. I’ve also found string at thrift stores for super cheap, that’s actually where I get most of my DMC! I recycled my clipboard from an old school building that was giving them out, then painted it to fit me better, and my sewing needles for undoing knots came from my moms unwanted sewing supplies so I didn’t have to spend anything there either. I’ve found it’s also pretty profitable to sell because you can sell five bracelets for $5, and be able to purchase enough thread to last you months of bracelet making just from those sales if you don’t have a steady income

As for time I usually end up working on projects as I’m winding down for the night or waiting on a load of laundry to get done, so I just work on three or four at a time and switch between patterns as I get bored so I always have something new to work on. Doing that also means I can get them done at a pretty good rate if I work on them steadily since I’m technically doing multiple at once just in separate bursts throughout the day

I don’t find that it’s too expensive, and I buy the colors I use a lot in bulk which does make it cheeper. I tend to have a decent bit of spare time on my hands, especially as of late, but I have always found myself making bracelets while watching TV and movies so that I have something to do with my hands.

I always try to knot whenever I’m watching something. And occasionally I’ll knot as I go to sleep. Either that or reading lol. As far as money, I usually get stuff for my b-day or Christmas or whatever. Idk string isn’t that expensive, especially over amazon
