Ok so I have been recently wonder where you all get inspiration for your patterns, I know that a lot of peoples want to start making patterns but can”t figure out what to make the patterns look like. If anyone could tell us/me that would be amazing!

For alpha patterns, I get tv shows and movies inspire me. If I like a character or show, I make a pattern based on it 🙂

a lot of my inspiration comes from experimentation. often, i don’t have a specific image in my mind of what i want my pattern to look like. i’ve been focusing a lot on making a bunch of shaped normal patterns because it gives me a sort of boundary i guess. but when it comes to the design itself, i sort of decide generally if i want it to be a modification of the candystripe or chevron or diamond or dovetail etc and then i experiment from there. sometimes it doesn’t work and the pattern looks like a complete mess but a lot of the times it does. hope that helps! 🙂
