I would honestly recommend Jane Austen’s books, which I know sounds weird but once you get past the language barrier, her books are hilarious and surprisingly similar to YA. I wouldn’t recommend Pride and Prejudice as your first one though because it’s a lot longer and has way more characters than some of her other books

uglies by scott westerfeld, the perks of being a wallflower by stephen chobsky, suicide notes by michael ford, wintergirls by laurie halse anderson, and paper towns by john green are all really good books 🙂
