Hi, I have seen you can get them from Amazon (I looked on Amazon UK and US sites) and there is quite a lot of choice. There is quite a lot of option for embroidery thread and even more for crochet thread, I haven't used it but I have heard from other forums that some crochet thread is quite similar to embroidery thread so you might want to do some research into that.

If you do buy crochet thread look for smaller size numbers (like 5) bc the smaller the number means that the thread is a bit thicker. I’ve bought some before and I got a size 8 so they were a little thin so I would double up of each strand ( so if I need 1 strand of blue for a pattern I would use 2 strands in place of 1)

On amazon there is DMC Prism Tye Dye Pack that is cute. It has some variegated thread and I plan on buying it.
