So I have recently made a lot more alphas (none are in my photos yet) and I have realized that with all of them the knots are slanted. I use the straight edges and flat alpha techniques. When I do a row of forward knots it looks like this: \\\\\\\ and a row of backward knots is like this: ///////If any of you have a tip on how to keep knots on alphas neater, that would be gladly appreciated. Thanks! |

The same exact thing happens in my alphas and all of the ones I have seen, I think it is just the way the knots are. You could try readjusting the knot after making it with your fingers or by pulling the string straight out to the side, but I’m not sure how effective that would be. There may not be anything you can do about it, as that is just the nature of the knots, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it not being 100% perfect because it is handmade 🙂

Push them up with a tooth pick, needle, or safety pin each time you finish a row.
