Okay so my Secret Santa bought me a huge pack of Prism craft thread. Normally I am strictly embroidery floss, but I hate to waste this huge pack because it does have some fantastic colors. What are your pros and cons of craft thread?

I prefer using embroidery floss because it's smooth and shinier. Craft thread I wouldn't recommend cause every time my friend and I use it it gets holes in between the knots and looks terrible. It was really kind of them for getting you something they thought you could use. 🙂 I hope this helped

Then again that is just my opinion 😉

Yea that's what I figured. I've always had an aversion to craft thread but I'm really itching to open the pack. I guess it's the enticing colors! Hahha I'm going to try making a bracelet out of my old craft thread and see how I feel about it. Thank you!

Craft floss snaps more easily. Embroidery floss comes in many colors!

I've never had a problem with craft thread, and sometimes prefer it because it splits less.

Craft thread is fine. Embroidery thread is a little nicer but I like to use craft thread for the strings you don't see in a bracelet

Okay thanks! But would you use craft thread to make the entire bracelet?

Whenever I use craft thread, I find it harder to knot with than embroidery floss, and it breaks easier than floss. But I still use craft thread sometimes

It stinks because I'm getting two sides of craft thread: it's good or it's bad. I don't know who to believe!! Hahah thank you!

You should try making a bracelet out of the craft thread and see if you like it or not.

I personally find that as some of the other users have said, it does snap easier so you can't pull as hard on it. It's not a horrible string, it'll do the job if you have good tension. I do think that embroidery floss produces a nicer looking product, but like Lyra said make like a simple candy stripe bracelet and see if you like the way it looks.

I think the craft tread doesn't look as good. I would use the embroidery floss. But, use the craft tread as a back-up.

I always use craft thread cuz it's cheaper and I don't want to waste money, but some of my craft thread easily breaks and some of them are really good

As you can see it is really up to personal taste. I personally use craft thread because it is cheaper. However, each person has different priorities and while I am drawn to cheaper string, other people will pay more for better quality. I wouldn't want to waste string either, so if someone gave me some I'd use it.

I only use DMC or IRIS embroidery floss because I have sensitive fingers and any stuff harder than that can like give me blisters and stuff.... (They get red just from embroidery floss and Once they got so swollen 😢 )
