I don’t understand this. I want to make a pattern that has 18 strings and 13 colors. 6 strings are A=white and the rest are different colors. What I don’t understand is the letters not in order repeating A when the next white string comes up. The pattern starts out with K then A then J then B then A then C then L. Does the first letter and color string have nothing to do with the pattern or will it be in order when you get to a certain row? I have seen other patterns where the letters are not in order. Explain to me the letters above the strings and explain when then letters of each string are not in order patterns.

@F-R-B_10 Sometimes the pattern creator tested out different colors and color schemes while creating the pattern

the letters just correlate with how the creator labeled them when making, which do not always end up being in alphabetical order sadly. also, they help if someone is slightly color blind or if the colors are just really similar to assign eat string a “name”
